🔥 Powerful Slow-Release Hive Pest Control Strips
Apiphos is a fiber strip used for hive pest control in beekeeping. Traditional hive pests such as bee mites and small hive beetles are a nightmare for beekeepers. Apiphos sustained-release strip works inside the brood box for at least 4 weeks. It disrupts parasite neural systems and helps lower Varroa mite and Tropilaelaps mite pressure quickly.
⏳ Rotate Your Bee Mite Treatments Across the Seasons
Apiphos contains coumaphos, a substance used for bee mite treatment. The United States, Canada, Russia, Europe, and other countries accept this ingredient for bee mites. We can use it seasonally and alternately.
🐞 Small Bee Hive Beetle Treatment
Dark corners are favorite hiding places for small bee hive beetles. How do you get rid of bee hive beetles? One of the few chemical pesticides that kills beetles in bee hives is Apiphos. You can use it to create a straightforward trap that will kill them.

【Dosage and Administration】
Used for Varroa Treatment:
1. Apply Apiphos strips when brood rearing is at its lowest, and do not use them when you have set honey supers.
2. The effects of a single application last for 4 to 6 weeks. Hang 1 strip for every 5 frames of bees in the brood box. Suspend it between brood frames so that bees can move on both sides.
3. At the end of treatment, remove each strip. After removing the strips, don't put any honey supers back on the hive for at least 14 days.
Used to Set a Small Hive Beetle Trap:
1. To treat hives for beetles, you need to wait until bees aren't making a huge amount of honey. Be sure you have taken off all honey supers first.
2. One application can maintain efficacy for 4 to 6 weeks. Cut one strip in half and attach the two halves to a 5-inch by 5-inch (12.7cm x 12.7cm) corrugated cardboard.
3. Position the cardboard square on the bottom board such that its strip side is facing down. Set it in the middle. We recommend covering the smooth side of the cardboard with duct tape to keep bees from chewing through and removing the trap.
Before applying Apiphos to the whole apiary, choose 2 or 3 bee colonies to try out. Watch them for 24 to 48 hours to figure out the right dosage schedule. It is best to do a trial on a clear morning so that it is easy to see how your bee colony is reacting. Based on the results of your trial, you can change the dosage as needed. You can add or remove strips based on how many hives you have and how bad your mite problem is.
Apiphos Safety Guidelines:
You must wear nitrile or rubber gloves. Never use leather or cloth gloves, as they will absorb the toxin and penetrate your skin. Wear long sleeves and pants and do not smoke, eat, or rub your eyes while you are handling the medication.
If you accidentally come into contact with it on your skin. Wash your skin with soap and plenty of cold water for 15 minutes. Consult a doctor right away if you feel pinpoint pupils, nausea, blurred vision, or drooling. Don't forget to take a photo of the packaging. Make it known to the doctor that you have come into contact with coumaphos and will need atropine treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is Apiphos and its active ingredient?
Apiphos is a composite fiber strip with an active ingredient coumaphos. Each strip contains 300mg. It can treat a variety of beekeeping pests, such as Varroa mites, Tropilaelaps mites, and small hive beetles.
-
How do I use Apiphos strips to treat bee mites?
Remove all honey supers first. Apply 1 strip to a standard 10-frame bee hive. Suspend strips between the frames in the center of the brood box. Honey bees can gather and have a great chance of contacting the strips more often.
-
How do I use Apiphos strips to treat small hive beetles?
Cut 1 strip in half and attach the two halves to a 5-inch by 5-inch (12.7 cm x 12.7 cm) corrugated cardboard. Place the cardboard in the center of the bottom board with the strip side facing down. Small hive beetles prefer to hide in dark, narrow cracks. We make a corrugated cardboard trap to lure the beetles into the corrugated gaps and contact the strips.
-
What are Apiphos' temperature range instructions for treating bee mites?
The recommended outside temperature is generally between 15°C and 30°C. We do not recommend using Apiphos when the temperature exceeds 30°C. High temperatures will cause the active ingredients to evaporate too quickly. This can be toxic to bees, and they may die. When the temperature falls below 15°C, bees often huddle together for warmth. Bee activity decreases at low temperatures, making them less likely to come into contact with the strips. This strongly reduces the efficacy of the acaricide.
-
What are Apiphos' temperature range instructions for treating small hive beetles?
The ideal outdoor temperature range is 21°C to 32°C. If the temperature drops below 15°C, small hive beetles will move to the warm center of the hive’s brood area. They will become less active in accessing the traps you have set at the bottom of the beehive. If the air temperature rises above 32°C, high temperatures will cause the active ingredients to evaporate too fast. It may cause queen loss or bee death.
-
How long to leave Apiphos strips in hive?
Apiphos is a slow-release strip that can maintain efficacy for 4 to 6 weeks. You can adjust the number of treatment days within this effective range. You must remove it after treatment to prevent bee mites from developing resistance to the coumaphos active ingredient.
-
Can Apiphos be used with honey supers on?
No, it cannot if you plan to harvest honey for human consumption. Remove all honey supers before applying a treatment. After removing the strips, you must wait at least 14 days before you return the honey supers to harvest honey.
-
Is Apiphos hive pest control strips safe to handle?
It's safe as long as you handle Apiphos according to the standard safety guide. You must wear nitrile or rubber gloves during the placement and removal of strips to avoid direct skin contact. Leather or fabric gloves are prohibited because they can absorb the content easily. Wearing long pants and sleeved shirts will help protect your skin. Smoking, eating, or scratching your eyes is strictly prohibited when you are in the middle of treatment.
-
Are there symptoms of accidental overexposure?
Even though Apiphos has very little active ingredient, it can enter the skin and slowly harm health. Improper handling or excessive exposure may cause temporary symptoms such as skin irritation, headache, nausea, or dizziness. If your symptoms don't go away, consult a medical service.
